Golden, Hoppy, Refreshing – Dry and refreshing golden beer made with only Pale Malt and British hops with an earthy, herbal, hop character The 1986 athletic season turned into a ‘gold rush’ for Portsmouth Grammar’s ex-Head Boy, Roger Black, who spectacularly scooped up gold medals for the 400m Sprint at both the Commonwealth and European Championships
IPA - Traditional IPA
Bitter, Citrusy, Hoppy – Large amounts of hops deliver an intense piney and citrusy aroma and flavour in a bitter, easy drinking Pale Ale 9366 is the number of miles from Portsmouth to Ayres Rock, which Portsmouth-born Henry travelled before becoming Premier of South Australia none other than five times, and had the accolade of having Ayers Rock named after him. Enjoy a pint of our dry and refreshing IPA in his honour.
American Style Ale - Amber Ale

Cloudy, Refreshing, Citrusy The famous 1943 poem of Nobel Prize winner, and one-time resident of Portsmouth Rudyard Kipling, which opens with the line ‘You may talk o’ gin and beer…’ is a fitting tribute for our elegant and refreshing witbier
Belgian Style - Saison
Aromatic, Fruity, Yeasty – Aromatic with fruity, peppery and hoppy characteristics; low in malt character with a dry finish In deference to our beloved Inspector Clouseau (aka, local lad Peter Sellers) who features in the iconic ‘Pink Panther’ films, we’ve named our lively, citrusy Saison in his honour.
IPA - Tropical IPA
Hazy, Citrusy, Hoppy Historic tribute to Captain Bligh’s infamous ship ‘Bounty’ which sailed from Portsmouth on that fated journey to Tahiti. As life on the tropical island was preferred to the harsh existence onboard the 18th century cargo ship, the crew refused to leave and created mutiny, rather than return to the ship….
IPA - Black IPA
Black, Hoppy, Bitter Famous producer Brian Eno, of U2, Roxy Music, Ultravox, Talking Heads and Cold Play fame, has certainly left his mark on Portsmouth; joining the Sinfonia in the 70’s he helped to create the student orchestra (originally started as a one-off, tongue-in-cheek art performance) into a cultural phenomenon of the decade by producing their first two albums

Get hands on and get involved! Our microbrewery sits right in the heart of our beautiful brewpub, you will be treated to breakfast, lunch and a lot of beers throughout the day. As your day comes to a close you will also get to choose a 5 Litre mini keg of beer to take away with you.
This experience is perfect to enjoy on your own (with our brewer of course) or as part of a group!

Over the course of approx. 2 hours guests will enjoy some nibbles and learn how to appreciate the differences between a number of premium craft beers (including products we brew exclusively on our on-site microbrewery). Delve into the wonderful world of gin! Guests will be guided on a sensory journey across 5 different premium/craft gins. Learn the secrets behind the recipes/botanicals and get hands on with the chance to experiment with different tonics and garnishes. All topped off with delicious nibbles, a double G&T of your choice and the option to finish with your choice of Academy Meal for the perfect experience!

Enjoy a range of dishes & sharing dessert, each expertly matched to a craft beer!
Guests are greeted with a 1/3 pint of our cask ale (brewed on site) before choosing 3 small plates from our menu -each small plate comes served with a 1/3 pint of beer chosen specifically to complement each dish. The meal is then topped off with a cask ale chocolate fondue to share, matched with a 1/3 of our chocolatey stout!
For groups of 2+
This semi private area is perfect for getting larger groups of people together for a celebration whether it be a birthday, retirement party or any other special occasion! The area can comfortably seat 32 guests or we can accommodate a more informal group of 45.
We have the perfect area to celebrate a special occasion outside in our unique beach huts- dining al fresco at its best! Gather your loved ones and enjoy a buffet or selection of our mouth watering small plates and sharers and match with a great selection of craft beers. We can’t guarantee the weather but we can guarantee a good time!
The Indoor firepit situated close to our microbrewery is aptly named as it’s not just any table, but it has its own working firepit right in the middle of it! Cosy up as a group of 10 and indulge in some great food and drinks whilst enjoying the hoppy surroundings.
